With a fresh install of mdk9.2rc, running xmms gives the following:
The font "-adobe-helvetica-bold-r-*-*-10-*" does not support all the required
character sets for the current locale "en_GB"
(Missing character set "ISO8859-1")
(Missing character set "ISO8859-1")
** CRITICAL **: Couldn't open playlist font
The playlist seems empty though you can play the files in it.
