you say that french pacifist ? ;)
I remember well the thread :
- no possibility to change the layout as it was an advice from UI team in
order to simplify and have task oriented rpmdrake and menu entry.
- having install/remove in the same GUI and also show if package is
installed/not installed will increase a lot hdlist computation time at the
beginning and thus will increase rpmdrake startup time. This make me think
that there are an implementation pb and many hdlist structure should be
revised or rpmdrake should always use synthesis unless the user set a other
setting ( it's were we need a GUI to change option in rpmdrake )
- API will be more complex and thus could lead more easily to bug/error

a "search in already installed packages" is the same than launching "remove
software" and just perform a search.

When I see synaptic/Red carpet I wonder is rpmdrake is so easy and obvious to
use. Synaptic is to geekish, but Red Carpet seems to be very very fine ( from
what I see from screenshot ).

printerdrake window list is too small and let a big waste space under. On top
of that you can't resize it and if you resize mcc window you will still have
space waste under.
