------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-04-09 10:12 ------- I don't know. I tried all Window managers I have installed (KDE, GNOME, IceWM, WindowMaker) and these little dialog boxes pop up every time and in all of them. The situation is the worst in KDE where in addition to little dialog box also the main rpmdrake window comes into focus. In others only dialog box comes into focus. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: RESOLVED creation_date: description: After all packages are installed a dialog box shows telling you that all packages have been installed. It steals focus from any app runing and brings RPMDrake window to front. I guess that for this dialog stealing focus is OK to alert user. But the following dialog boxes that tell you something like "Please wait, updating list of packages" are also stealing focus but they should quietly work in background. I think that stealing focus is a very bad thing in general as it disturbs any work in another application the user is doing. Focus stealing should be reserved only for realy important messages that need attention and should be kept to an absolute minimum.
