The permissions were correct in Apache 1.3.x, I fixed them in
apache-conf-2.0.47-5mdk.

I think it should be apache.root, not root.root.
Otherwise the apache servers won't be able to write in it, and the
cache won't work, no matter the amount of time you spend tweakin the
http.confs :(
