I've got a single Serial ATA drive (hde) on my Gigabyte GA-7NNXP mobo. There are two serial ATA connectors, SATA0 and SATA1. hde is connected to SATA0.
During system boot all of the drives are "found" without problems... except then the boot process stalls for about 10 seconds before declaring that it can't find hdg - which would be drive0 from SATA1. No surprise, it isn't there after all.... but why is it still looking for it at that point? Not terminal, just a bit annoying.
