Summary: Update problem when installing from disk
           Product: Installation
           Version: 1.830
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: Installation
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I had two partitions under Mandrake 9.0 : one mounted on /, and the second (on
another disk) on /usr.
I downloaded Mandrake 9.2RC1 isos and extracted them in /usr/linux, and then
tried to update my system using the kernel image which installs from disk. Some
packages refused to install, but the installation completed. When I rebooted,
Linux couldn't boot anymore.
I started the rescue system, and saw that there were no space left on my
partition mounted on / (which prevented me from booting I think) : the
installation had created the usr directory and started to install packages there
(without saying me at any moment that the /usr partition couldn't be mounted,
nor there were no space left...).

I think the install process failed to mount /usr because it was already mounted
in order to provide installation files.
