Hi

I used to use an old ISA Network card. I worked ok in older version of mandrake. I was having problems with it at boot time though saying thing like bad ip and bad mask until I deliberatly deactivated and reactiveted it in Drak Connect. When it was conected the transfers to and from a windows pc were terrible making tightVNC and rdesktop impossible to use.

HAving had enough of this I got a cheep sis900 pci network card I altered the /etc/modules.conf to reflect that but I still have the same problem with the bad ip and bad mask. It happens at boot time and when ever I leave drakconnect in mmc

I've noticed from the logs that it always tries to install the latest version of bind dhcp server and another 2 other things (which I can't remember from memory) I checked and made sure I was using the latest version of all these things which I was.

Does anyone recognise this problem?

I also cannot find the printers on my mum's windows machine (yes they are shared propperly) I even tried to set them up manually but still to no avail.

AFAIK I'm using all the latest packages and I have everything I need installed.

Could someone give me a rundown of all the packages I'd need for it to auto detect (It did work in 9.1)

Ah yes I can also brouse the PC inquestion using LinNeighbourhood as long as I'm loged in.

Again packages are urpmid when printerdrake is first started but they all appear to be installed.

Again anyone recognise this problem?

Thanks for any help / advice offered

Mike
