I just moticed that the "Super User mode" entries for konqueror
(Applications->File Management) and konsole (Terminals->) are no longer
present.

Was this intentional, or an accidental victim of the KDE split?

Without these menu entries, it is substantially more difficult to defend
 the prevention of root login in the default display manager ...

(and they are convenient anyway for users who don't just run a terminal).
