A default installation on a Toshiba 4030CDT is 640x480x24.
By default X is run.
The result is a blank screen. Connecting to an external monitor makes it correctable.
The default resolution should be 800x600x16 or 1024x768x16. >16 results in no
display. < 800x600 makes MCC unusable.
