This problem still exists in 9.2rc2. I must install it from CD3 manually.
But, after I installed it, there seems a bug within sysconfig/i18n:
XIM_PROGRAM=chinput -gb
which should be(quotes required):
XIM_PROGRAM="chinput -gb"
Such a bug will lead X unable to start automaticly.

I've installed 9.2beta1 with zh_CN locale. By default, miniChinput as a Chinese
IME won't be installed, which is very strange.
