The reason I wanted the whole list was to see if there is the same amount of modules in your alsa build and if they are all named the same way as in the mdk build... Of course I can rebuild alsa from cvs myself to verify all of that too, so no need for you to do it... >> and when you have that kernel running, tell me wich one it is, and >> send me >> the output of lsmod (with the snd-usb-audio module loaded) > >Well, there will be a lot, since I have three sound cards and three >MIDI interfaces, each with an alsa sequencer and oss emulation... but >the only ones needed for the Quattro are: >soundcore (not alsa) >snd (called acore in the alsa package) >snd-usb-midi > shouldn't that be snd-usb-audio ? anyway you do only need to send the relevant parts of lsmod >> This would help me get a reference point to get alsa working again, >> and save me some time ... > >How will you know when it's fixed? I'll do it the "hard way" ;-) ... with your help... First I build a clean alsa kernel..., and send you the complete sound/ tree (and you verify that it works) then I add one patch at a time, and recompiling the modules, and making a copy of the resulting snd-usb-audio Then when I have all patched modules built, I'll send them all to you to try out one by one, until we know wich one breaks the system... >BTW, alsa 0.9.6 doesn't build against the current kernel-source.
