Hi,

As far as i remember, when updating glibc/XFree-xfs with urpmi --auto-select,
services/X11 are restarting with no warning. There should be a one ! restarting
X and xfs is needed (restarting xfs only freezes X11 as far as i remember) and
urpmi should save the state of update, say "please save your work", then restart
X, relog immediatly the user and show a message "update will now go on...please
reenter root password :"

Or, easier, just say when lauching urpmi --auto-select "beware, you must start
the update from text mode and save your work under X"...
