           Product: kernel
         Component: kernel
Summary: Suspend takes a long time and freezes on resume
           Product: kernel
           Version: 2.4.22-8mdk
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: kernel
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If an application is active, e.g. a cvs update, but also in other cases
(possible other applications that just happen to write to the disk since there
are many windows open), suspend takes longer before swithing to console mode,
then displays a message along the line "Freezing tasks. Attempt 1" and switches
back to X. After another long wait (a minute) suspend continues and powers off.

On resume the system hangs after the first resume pass, either directly or
after switching back to X, which also takes forever. Not immediately, but after
a short while. So short that I cannot actually do more that type a few letters.

I use the XFS file system.
