OK, this must have been the default mode for 9.1 and prior, correct?  If this is
the new default, this is going to affect a lot of (Dell only?) laptops and
probably some older PCs!

I am getting the following errors during the install: 
 
I can't access a Mandrake Linux Installation disc 
in your CDROM drive (TOSHIBA CD-ROM XM-1802B). 
Retry? 
 
The tail of the Alt-F3 screen says:
