well the packet-cdvd patch updates the udf to latest cvs,
and it shouldn't be brocken.

there are a lot of experimental stuff in kernel which is enabled
and i don't see how one can hose his system but enabling udf writing

no one is going to install to udf, udf is used only on dvd, packet-cd/dvd

besides,
currently diskdrake will add "-r" for cd/dvd drives so it won't be a problem
for none, unless he change it to "-rw" manually

without udf write support there is no much sense for the packet-cd/dvd + dvd+rw
patches which are already in the kernel

PS.
please do not remove the patches, but enable udf write support

not sure about the %_component ,
but as is as trivial as enabling an option fs->udf->write support

without this packet-cdvd is unusable
and DVD+RW can not be used as DVD-RAM or hard drive or a pretty big floppy
