Nooo! For UltraDMA2 on your fisrst ide drive, it would
be something like this (for an explanation of the
number after the -X, see the man page of hdparm):
hdparm -d1 -X66 /dev/hda
or for an older EIDE drive:
hdparm -d1 -X34 /dev/hda
**Please note this is dangerous stuff; if you punch in
a mode that does not corresponds to what your
drive/controller is capable, under some circumstances
it could lead to a corrupted file systems.
