Product: drakxtools
Component: diskdrake
Summary: Installation crashed (error creating /mnt/mnt/cdrom2...)
/ Wrong windows drive letters shown
Product: drakxtools
Version: 9.2-11mdk
Platform: PC
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: diskdrake

ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I tried a clean install of 9.2rc2 with the options "noapic vgahi expert" for the
kernel. First time, after playing around with the partitioning tool (manual
partitioning), the installation showed the following error after formatting the
partitions:
"mkdir: error creating /mnt/mnt/cdrom2
No space left on device"
This error message re-appeared every time I clicked ok, so I pressed the
reset-button after a hundred clicks...
I cant exactly say what was the problem here, I played around on the console and
created /mnt/hda1 and /mnt/hda5 to check which one was my home partition, but I
think I unmounted both before I exited the console (ALT+F2 I think).
Second time I did not play around with the partitioning tool and on the console
that much, and the Installation went on smooth.
But one small problem occured:
On the dialog that appears after using the partitioning - tool where you can
select which partitions shall be formatted some drives have got DOS / Windows
drive letters like C: or D: next to it. Here hda is a harddisk, hdb a dvdrom,
hdc another harddisk and hdd the cd-writer.
hda3 is a NTFS w2k - partition and got the drive letter C: (correct!), hda6 is a
FAT32 drive and got the letter D: (correct!). But hdc3 also had a drive letter -
D: (that should be hda6 :-)) - and hdc3 was turned into ext3 some minutes before
using the partitioning tool. hdc6 (FAT32) also got the drive letter D: - E:
woule be correct...
thanks!
