The snd-ali5451 ALSA driver works fine, as usual. BTW, I hope you will make it
wrt to ML 9.2 final, because after I installed ML 9.2 RC2 I was greeted by a
*terrible* screeching sound due to the wrong module being used.

On my Acer Travelmate 521 TE the sound chip (Trident 4dWave/Sis 7018/Ali
5451,Tvia CyberPro 5050 PCI Audio, version 0.14.10h according to dmesg) seems to
be correctly identified at installation time, but the relative module fails at
boot time: insmod failed.
Syslog says:
