           Product: proftpd
         Component: proftpd
           Summary: proftp won't start on new install - segfaults
           Product: proftpd
           Version: 1.2.8-4mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: proftpd
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I installed proftpd, and later proftpd-anonymous. Installed either way segfaults when
started.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] meyerv]# proftpd -d9
 - parsing '/etc/proftpd.conf' configuration

 - FS: using system read()
 - FS: using system read()

 - dispatching auth request "getpwnam" to module mod_auth_unix
 - dispatching auth request "getgrnam" to module mod_ldap

 - dispatching auth request "getgrnam" to module mod_auth_unix
 - <Directory />: adding section for resolved path '/'
Segmentation fault

Got this on console with debug level 9. I figured maybe it was a configuration
problem, so I also installed the proftpd-anonymous package, using the default
"rpmnew" config as the new config file, same problem.

Installed on my laptop, which has been incremental cooker updates rather than
clean install - works fine
