These icons are produced by hotplug and dynamic, not by kdebase. Moving over bug
to dynamic.

I have my USB scanner (which was auto-detected correctly) accessible on my
desktop. However, the scanner icon shows up twice. I traced the problem down
to 2 different dynamically-generated entries for the desktop in
/usr/share/apps/kdesktop/Desktop .
dynamic_dev_usb_scanner0.desktop
dynamic_dev_usb_scanner0_dynamic.desktop
The files are identical in size and content. I suspect that at some point the
naming standard of these changed to inclucde "_dynamic" and the old one was not
deleted on an upgrade of the packages (the dates are not both current).
