------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-18-09 16:56 -------
alsa service is part of initscripts and thus always installed.

as the future of sound under Linux is ALSA and not OSS, this is not an issue.

description:
Hello,

I found that alsa service is configured to run even when I choose OSS audio
driver (and use sound service). There are also some services people usually do
not use (nfs, portmap). I think that there should be only really necessary
programs selected to run in default installation.
