------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-18-09 18:40 -------
Note typo : noAPIC is not the same as noapic for the kernel, so retry
please. If doesn't work try pci=noacpi
Try all these option with lastest for exemple kernel 2.4.22.10mdk

description:
This also appears with 9.1 and 9.1b1 (befoire ?).
I read forums about this problem, trying to start the installation with "text
noAPIC" but with no result.
It seems that many computer with AMD processor have the same problem, also with
RedHat distribution (kernel bug ?)
Gushterul from security.org proposed to comment the line :
apic.c : apic_write(APIC_ESR, 0);
but I'm not strong enough to do this myself.
My config is :
-------------
CPU Type : AMD Duron XP, 1300 MHz (6.5 x 200)
Motherboard Name : Mercury KOB KM266 FDSMx
Motherboard Chipset : VIA VT8375 ProSavageDDR KM266
System Memory : 480 MB (DDR SDRAM)
BIOS Type : AMI (07/02/02)
Video Adapter : S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR (32 MB)
3D Accelerator : S3 SuperSavageDDR
Audio Adapter : VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller
Network Adapter : 3Com EtherLink PCI
Hope this will help you.
If you want me to do other tests, there will be welcome.
