Other GL screensavers are just as intensive, but they don't lock my machine. Further: 1. Machine locks when running polytopes. 2. I use alt-sysreq-s-u-b to reboot. 3. The display stays blank during the reboot. Never comes back. 4. I force a power-off. System comes up normally. This is repeatable. Sounds like the screensaver is causing the driver to push the graphics card into an unstable state.
