           Product: Installation
         Component: Installation
Summary: In Stage2 installation, continue after network error has
                    bad display.
           Product: Installation
           Version: 1.829
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Installation
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If an network install is started with the disk image "network.img", and an error
occurs when attempting to download and install the selected applications, a
message box appears on the screen that indicates that the install has been
aborted, and those packages that have been downloaded will now be installed.
This message appears in a dialog box on the center of the screen, and after the
"OK" button has been selected, a new dialog box appears on the screen that looks
like the progress portion of the underlying display. At this point, the install
appears to resume from the network.

Besides the obvious, that the install did not cleanup from the aborted download
and return to a previous state, the big problem here is that there are now two
sets of progress bars: one on the original screen, and the second in the overlay
that how sits on top of the screen. When the package installation completes,
all subsequent screens are displayed in this new window, with the result that,
when the user needs to enter additional data, it becomes difficult to do properly.

I realise this problem may only affect cooker users, but there may be other
aspects of the installation process (local FTP install, etc.) that could suffer
from this.
