------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-21-09 13:36 ------- 1) This is really a "drakbug" error which is part of "drakxtools-newt". The drakbug perl program line 29: my $bugzilla_url = "http://drakbug.mandrakesoft.com"; should be changed to a working URL so the reporting mechanism will work when "Cooker" is being used. However, AFAIK, there is no anthill or drakbug or bugzilla auto-report mechanism for 'Cooker'. In any event cooker/beta/rc programs' bugs should get reported here at bugzilla. The drakbug program needs to (somehow) use http://qa.mandrakesoft.com for that which is an "enhancement". (or maybe drakbug.mandrakesoft.com needs to get up and running ASAP!) 2) The bug reporting mechanism in "Help" for *drak* is for stable releases only. ( I know this because I wasted 30 minutes a few hours ago filing a report on harddrake only to find that I could not login to file the report. ) 3) The URL you should have gotten for a "stable release" is http://bugs.mandrakelinux.com/drakbug.php?request=1 I tried the Help/Report... eariler for harddrake and got the above URL. I just redid it with drakconf and got the same URL. You did not get that URL because drakbug thinks you are using "9.2(Cooker)". 4) Part of the problem here, on this box with RC2 installed, is that the /etc/mandrake-release file does not have "Cooker" or "RC" in it so the drakbug test line 75 if ($mandrake_release !~ /Cooker/) { does not work as expected: I get the URL to report a bug for a stable release. If I understand the perl correctly(but I might not), the drakbug lines 78 & 79 $bugzilla_url = "http://bugs.mandrakelinux.com/drakbug.php?request=1"; $help_url = "http://bugs.mandrakelinux.com/faq.php"; will be used for legitimate (stable) releases. 5) Finally, even if this was a stable release, which it is not, I could not 'auto' file a bug report. From the bugs.mandrakelinux.com registration page: " New User Registration We're sorry... this is a private site and new users must be added by the administrator. Try sending an email to request access to [EMAIL PROTECTED] " While I appreciate the more secure nature of that extra step, it defeats the entire purpose of reporting with drakbug, IMHO. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: In drakconf (Lang fr_FR.ISO-8859-15) click Help click report a bug The url called is incorrect : http://drakbug.mandrakesoft.com?mdkbugreport=1&package=drakconf-9.2-4mdk&kernel=2.4.21-6mdkenterprise&version=9.2(Cooker) Hte drakbug.mandrakesoft.com inconnu
