When I installed the Cooker build of 17 Sep 2003, the installation routines
changed my bootloader from LILO to GRUB, a fact that I did not notice until I
had rebooted the system. GRUB works fine, but it is ugly compared to the nice
screen that LILO displayed at boot time.
I later updated this system to the Cooker build of 19 Sep 2003, and this time, I
selected LILO as my boot loader. This still did not work. I received Stage2
errors about the "vga=" string that was now in each entry, which I than removed,
only to find that I could not change the bootloader type to LILO still. I
decided to let the install complete, with the thought that I would fix the
problem in MCC later.
Unfortunately, drakboot returned an error after I selected LILO:
Installation of LILO failed. The following error occurred:
lilo failed: Fatal: First sector of /dev/hda1
doesn't have a valid boot signature.
GRUB still works fine.
