It isn't included yet in the latest Marcelo pre-release patch or the current
Cooker kernel, but you can try the latest version of the driver source here:

 http://people.freebsd.org/~gibbs/linux/SRC/aic79xx-1.3.11-source.tar.gz

This is driver version 1.3.11. Marcelo's 2.4.22 includes version 1.3.10.

Based on the this section of the driver source, I'm guessing that you should
probably also set the option to build the updated firmware when you compile this
driver:

/*
* Run a data fifo to completion for a transaction we know
* has completed across the SCSI bus (good status has been
* received). We are already set to the correct FIFO mode
* on entry to this routine.
*
* This function attempts to operate exactly as the firmware
* would when running this FIFO. Care must be taken to update
* this routine any time the firmware's FIFO algorithm is
* changed.
*/
static void
ahd_run_data_fifo(struct ahd_softc *ahd, struct scb *scb)
