Damien, the fact that everyone seems to get this wrong indicates that the user
interface is wrong.

The zeroconf hostname is largely irrelevant to most people (since 95% of the
desktops out there don't support zeroconf), whereas the hostname *is* very
relevant (since it is shown in millions of places).

You really need to making the setting of hostname most obvious. The zeroconf
hostname will follow it by default.

Mandrake 9.2 RC2

If I enter a zeroconf hostname during install, my hostname is still set to
"localhost" even though I specified a hostname.

I can go and verify that the "Zeroconf Host name" is correctly set in "Network *
Internet Configuration".

In fact the text reads as follows;

"Enter a Zeroconf host name without any dot if you don't want to use the default
host name."

So I have to add a hostname to "Host name" to get the host name I want.
