------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-29-09 23:58 -------
Official word from the HP developer :

You are right, use one of the grayscale modes for true black (K) printing.

Normal and Photo modes will use K-fortification or composite black which is not
always desirable when printing black text. This is true for VIP and non-VIP
printers.

We are working on future hpijs release which will print black (K) text in Normal
mode.

Grayscale (K) printing will always be faster than Norm (KCMY) and Photo (CMY).

You can close this bug as expected behaviour.

description:
(That's not entirely true.)

When I print using my Officejet D135, it only uses the color cartridge to print.
It's supposed to autodetect by the paper type and I'm using plain old inkjet paper.

Expected behavior: A mixed text and graphic page should use the black cartridge
for solid black (text) and the color cartridge for color.

Actual behavior: If the page is only black, the driver uses the black cartridge,
but if the page has any color, the driver uses only the color cartridge.
