I have a network Laser printer Konica 7830n. I can have a ppd file for it but in
printerdrake I can't select an alternate ppd file.
The problem is that i can add an entry in printer database where i could tell which
driver to use (generic Postscript or PCL5c driver ) and specify a custom ppd file.
As printerdrake do several settings at the same time ( OO/So printer configuration ),
I'm willing to pass by printerdrake to set the printer.
One solution ( evil ugly hack ) could be to rerplace all ppd file use for my printer
by the
one from konica ( see /etc/cups/ppd/ ) but fear about the fact that each time I will
try
to set a option in printerdrake it will overwrite it. On top of that as I'm doing some
profile, set some values directly in printerdrake is interesting.

The only way I found is to add manually the printer with cups and specify the ppd
file,
and after launch printerdrake :

/usr/sbin/lpadmin -p Kon -E -v socket://192.168.1.40 -P /usr/share/cups/model/
KN7830u1.ppd
