OK.  I should have had the patience to let the install complete and check
the direct dependencies before writing my previous post.

What's new for this release is the package mandrake_theme, and that that
mandrake_desk requires it.

But then, is mandrake_theme really necessary?

After actually completing the install (and updating from Cooker), doing
multiple reboots, I haven't seen a bootsplash image a singe time, even
though I haven't done anything to achieve it.  Maybe it's because I didn't
let 9.2 b2 install a bootloader, but added a new entry for 9.2 in
/boot/grub/menu.lst on my Mandrake 9.1 partition?
