You mean File->Open? What's wrong with that? We could argue about this forever,
but the totem UI is better usability-wise, as it has real gtk toolkit buttons
and menus, while the interface of xmms is a skinnable mess.

I found Totem Media Player in the Sound menu, while it refuses to play any 
audio file (mp3 or wav). Only movies seem to be supported. I suggest we use 
Totem for video only and install another Media Player.
