Component: Installation
Summary: Boot Floppy Created During Installation Will Not Start
Linux
Product: Installation
Version: 1.847
Platform: PC
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Installation
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Installed Linux on partition /dev/hda2 with boot manager in /dev/hda2. (Have
another boot manager in /dev/hda).
Created boot floppy disk during installation. Disk was created successfully.
Tried to boot with newly created floppy. Error message: 'Could not find kernel
image: linux'
I solved this by typing at the boot prompt: 'vmlinuz root=/dev/hda2'. vmlinuz
then loaded off the floppy and started Mandrake Linux correctly from /dev/hda2.
But shouldn't this have been configured in the boot disk when it was created?
