I tried myself with kde2 files in cooker and it didn't fix the problems...
so I installed kde-2.1.1 from http://us.mandrakesoft.com/~molnarc/
and finally Kvirc worked!
But I had to download the tar file and compile it myself...
the rpm package found in http://www.kvirc.net didn't work.
