Product: kernel
Component: default
Summary: Pegasus driver causes random net drops
Product: kernel
Version: 2.4.22-17mdk
Platform: PC
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P2
Component: default
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The pegasus driver v0.4.29 (2002/12/31)(dated Aug 25) causes random "connection
refused..." and net slowdowns/drops on the early Pegasus v1.1 USB ethernet
boards, specifically the D-link I have. A DL of more than a meg is virtually
impossible, and using Mandrake Update is amazingly bad, as it does not keep
trying, it just drops and says the file does not exist...(bug or feature?)
Copying the "v0.4.29 (2002/12/31)(24 July) version of pegasus.c and Pegasus.h
from <=2.4.21-0.25mdk sources (and recompliling) corrects the issue.
This is a very solid driver in its older version.
