------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-20-10 16:55 -------
if it's an usb webcam, then its driver is loaded by hotplug once usb
service is started
maybe initscripts should start usb service after sound service
but then, we'll failled to restore mixer settings for usb audio
devices :-(
i've not yet figured a fix for that one

description:
problem:
system considers microphone in webcam to be regular soundcard - creates /dev/dsp
entry for it and /dev/dsp1 + /dev/dsp2 entries for a real sound card (sb live!) .
mandrake should load module for soundcard first, than modules for any other
audiodevices.
btw: i haven't still found the solution for this. everybody tells me to switch
order of modules in /etc/modules(.conf) but there is no line with audio (webcam)
module included.
