Sounds strange...

No, you do want to rebuild the jpackage .nosrc.rpm;  in order to do this, 
you have to download the binary version of the sun jdk (.bin) instead of 
the .rpm one and put it in the SOURCES/ subdirectory (if it's not there,
"rpm -ba SPECS/java-1.4.2-sun.spec" will complain)
