I think it at least works a bit, which wouldbe an improvement of it not working at all

I have proposed previously on this list a way to warn Cooker testers when something is broken (because it is a work in progress) - but there was no warning.
Can't we come up with a method of flagging new updates which are known to break something until the other components are available? This would save a bunch of time and frustration!
