You don't really want to resign anything, the objective in checking the
signature is to verify the integrity of the package and to insure that
the packages you have are exactly identical to the packages that reside
at Mandrake corporate. That's what Gpg signatures do; they verify that
the download gave you a package that's identical to the source, or what
the author had whenever he signed it. Authenticity.

The authenticity thing would be my assurance that the CD I was buying
had a set of packages exactly indistinguishable from what Mandrake has,
and would therefore be an incentive to order and pay for a set of CD's.
It takes people time to read HOWTO's and learn the curve necessary to
build installation CD's properly, alot of people don't need to be doing
this unless they are going to be doing it alot, and these days more than
any other, time is money. Creation of Mandrake installation CD's with
the latest update packages already integrated fills the market gap for
those people who are busy. But only with assurance of authenticity.

I think it's a good idea overall, but I would keep one version of
installation cd's that were "vanilla", that is indistinguishable from
Mandrake's set except of course for the integrated updated packages.

Then for a few bucks more you could offer the enhanced version with
maybe ALL the PLF stuff. Since you are considering that I also suggest
that you include Vincent Danen's set of indisposable RPM's at
rpmhelp.net. I don't know about anybody else but I absolutely have to
have that stuff.
