What security level are you running at currently?
That makes a big difference on what you can view
as a normal user.

Subject: [Cooker] knetload

seems to be a bug in knetload.

the prg won't read the eth0 device (won't monitor, displays no errors, just
shows a "blank" display)

to work around this, i enter "su" or root and then execute "knetload", then
the
display shows the "colors" of activity and speed.

obviously a permissions problem. was working on upgrade from 6.1 > 7.0 >
7.1
but then i (obviously) did something to hinder knetload's ability to read
the
eth0 device.

only have performed "normal" user operations and on the extreme side,
installed/configured vmware and tried the new nvidia opengl/driver (failed
on
the last!)

so......
