alsa-utils is installed if the sound card is managed by alsa by
default.
harddrake service and/or draksound should install it if needed (just
pused on the todo list)

in order for alsa mixer controls to be saved and restored properly,
initscripts (alsa service) uses /usr/sbin/alsactl
but
initscripts does not install alsa-utils automatically
if this cannot be done as a requisite here, then please update draksound so
that on an alsa driver installation, alsa-utils is automatically installed
too.
