Hi cookers,

I have a Thinkpad 770X with Mandrake cooker always uptodate with the
latest available rpm's.
I need to use the pcmcia-tokenring from IBM.
In the past all works perfectly for me until kernel 2.2.15-04-mdk (from
Mandrake 7.1).
With the startpoint of 2.2.16 kernels the pcmcia did not work with the
ibmtr anymore
 - solution for me was: add install of the old kernel and all works
well.
Now since 2.2.17-kernels I allways get a kernel ups (crash) when the
ibmtr does an dhcp-request.
Now the circumvention with the old kernel also don't works anymore.
The tokenring does a dhcp request but when the initialisation is done,
no IP is available.
  The dhcp-request dies with:
        No DHCPOFFERS received.
No working leases in persistent database - sleeping.
With Win... it works! (No HW-probs), I worked also befor the latst
dhcp-update.

I have also tryed the new kernel 2.2.17-06 (with pcmcia compiled by
myself because the pcmcia-files are missing) -> same result
(kernel-crash).

So I think there are some changes? or bugs? in the kernel/pcmcia since
2.2.15-04.

I also think something is wrong or changed with the last dhcp-update
(3.0b1pl15-1).
Do I have to do some add. config-work ?

Has anyone some suggestions how to get the TR working again with dhcp
and the new kernels ??

Thanks in advance for any help.

Udo
