Hey!! I'm not sure if you guys know it or not, but the packages I've
been
submitting over the last few days haven't been building for some time.
I've been a bit irritated about this (seeing these packages not building
for some time) and decided to clean them up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have the impression that mandrake only
rebuilds packages
- if they are updated
- if they are forced to --> an underlying package is changed, and
dependancies force the dependant packages to be rebuilt.

Well, I recompile the Mandrake distro (and sometimes contrib too) EVERY
week (yes, I know, I'm stupid --> I should probably get a life and run
windoze or something). I SEE what the impact of changes to (for instance
RPM) are to other packages (within a week). Right now I'm just trying to
cleanup the packages that have been affected by recent changes. So,
actually "Lord Stefan" is doing you a favour... Eventually you're going
to have to do it anyway, might as well do it now & do it in a structured
way.

You can choose to wait and tackle these issues as you update the
packages
one by one. You'll run into the problems... Anyway, it's your distro
(not
mine), you can choose the strategy you wish to take. Maybe it's time for
Mandrake to setup a box that recompiles the distro on a regular basis
(always against the latest up2date packages). Then you'll also see
what's
really going on. I would find it quite embarassing if an outsider knows
more about the current package building status than the package builders
themselves (ouch!). I see this as pro-active packaging (now we see
reactive
packaging).

(Sorry about the harsh language, but this is my opinion... Don't get
angry
with me --> I'm trying to be constructuve).

fix):
