Hi!

Yesterday I told you that I had problems when building the
rpm of rpm. I meanwhile found out the reason, why the arch
variables are not set correctly by accident (I found an core
file in the main directory). When rpm starts, it immediately
segfaults. Here is the strace output:

strace ./rpm
execve("./rpm", ["./rpm"], [/* 35 vars */]) = 0
geteuid()                               = 0
getuid()                                = 0
getegid()                               = 0
getgid()                                = 0
--- SIGSEGV (Speicherzugriffsfehler) ---
+++ killed by SIGSEGV +++

Any idea what's going on here ? I have compiled the rpm as root
and it makes no difference if I start it as root or not.
Help is much appreciated as I need rpm (and its lib) for several
other mdks which need the new rpm.

Best regards,

Reinhard Katzmann
