Well, actually, then you shouldn't be updating any other packages either
;-)
There is a chance that a regular package might not work on alpha, ppc or
sparc
after a modification was made... Is it time for
gtk+-alpha-1.2.8-1mdk.src.rpm?
Let's not do that... mostly the people on other platforms will provide
some
form of feedback when something is broken.

The 3 seperate packages also add up to that amount, acutally, a bit
more,
due to 3* .spec file + the source files next to the large netscape
tar.bz2
an other overhead. For a person with a traditional dialup connection,
downloading the one big src.rpm will require quite some patience.

Is this the only thing that requires compiling?
fgrep gcc netscape-4.73-7mdk.src.rpm.txt
+ gcc -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti -pipe -s
-mcpu=pentiumpro -march=pentiumpro -ffast-math -fexpensive-optimizations
-fPIC -nostartfiles -nostdlib -shared -o libnspipepatch.so nspipepatch.c
-lc -ldl

I'm sorry, this sounds like quite a lame excuse to not update a
package...
(when the functionality could easily be copied over). Take a look at
the changelogs, how many of the latest changes would have been
impossible
to bring over to the other platforms?

Sparc changelog:
(SPARC package is hopelessly behind).
Hmmm... it's on your side of the fence, hence I won't do anything about
it?
I hope that isn't the way we work??
I would hope that we could get something going to at least keep the
three
packages in sync. That's my main issue, letting them build out of one
src.rpm
was a suggestion to make it easier on all of us (except the people with
an
analog modem).
Actually, what we might consider doing is setting up mozilla package.
The
latest nightly builds have been quite good, and they build out of one
source file (no more binaries).

PS: Mandrakesoft does have alpha and sparc based machines at their
office for
the employee's... Chmouel??
