Wouldn't it be possible to have a check in updatemenus to look for a file in
/var/lock calle noupdatemenus and if it exists then don't update the menus?

I would love that feature so that when I install a million rpms i could turn
it off and then manually run update menus when I am finished with the
upgrades.. This will speed up the installation process alot since the update
menus takes quite sometime on every package?
