Since I have 'cooker' rpms strewn about the landscape
I am addressing these questions to you helpful and hardworking people:)

I recently purchased a bonifide MandrakeSoft 7.1 boxed set,
in my feeble efforts to help out "the cause". I then proceeded to
install clean but keeping /home intact from previous L-M 7.0/7.1/Cooker
hacking.

Now my always recognized AWE32 is dead, with lots of "red failed",
and will not get recognized by the ususal means. I havent had this
much trouble since early 6.0?

SCSI Sym 53C825 gets recognized but locks on configure.....i.e.
"etc/rc.d/rc5.d/So5harddrake: /ne56: 189 Seg Fault/usr/bin/hardrake-text
--kudzu --time out 38"
Locks on next Start Service or configure. Am using detect-0.9.60-1mdk

ISA ne2000 clone NIC card doesnt want to load:
"
/lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/net/ne.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/net/ne.o failed
/lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/net/ne.o: insmod ne failed
and
/etc/conf.modules is more recent than
/lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/modules.dep
I have never seen the above before? Does this mean the stock kernel in
7.1
is not in sync with /etc/conf.modules?

All of netscape permissions and ownership got slammed all over the
place.
'Chown user /home/user/.netscape/* ' and nsmail/* seemed to help "some"?

I only chose normal "medium" security and then tried
msec 'custom.sh' "easy" to no avail

I tried the netscape-common-4.74-6mdk and
netscape-communicator-4.74-6mdk rpms
with no change.

I realize my hybrid system is just asking for problems but then thats
okay with me but this time mixing Cooker with 7.1 seems to have caused
more
damage than when I did it with 7.0/Cooker a few months ago. Obviously I
have
really messed up this time with 7.1/Cooker :)

Any help would be appreciated
