Ok just got all your message and i will don't answer to all. Actually
if you have the last kernel and initscripts you should get :

1* modprobe loop before the kernel remove (%pre)
2* regeneration initrd/installation of bootloader entry via
   installkernel script.

you describe them on this mailing list.
