Oi, because of some recent changes in the USB subsystem CUPS didn't autodetect USB ports and printers in the Cooker. I modified the USB backend of CUPS a little bit, so that the autodetection works for both the old and the new situation. So for making a USB printer working under CUPS, do the following: 1.) Edit /etc/sysconfig/usb adding the line "PRINTER=yes". 2.) Activate USB support to be loaded automatically at boot time: chkconfig --add usb 3.) Start USB for the first time: /etc/rc.d/init.d/usb start 4.) Start the CUPS daemon /etc/rc.d/init.d/cups start It is very important that the CUPS daemon is started AFTER USB has been started. 5.) Install your USB printer with the web interface of CUPS as usual. Till
