Hello, I'm back to this list with a new address :)

Some things about cooker downloaded at 27/08/2000

INSTALLATION on new HD.
1) Fails at "printer configuration".
The attempt to load some modules ( parport ?? ) simply does not work.
Nothing is locked, but the installation still waiting for module
to load...
2) "Do you want configure an ISDN card?" (or something like this)
Choosing "YES" is not usefull since the installation jump to "Printer
setup.." just 2 seconds after

KDE2
The desktop links does not work... also with 29/08/2000 rpm
upgrade (including mandrake-desktop)
With the XFree upgrade (28/08/2000) and latest KDE2 I get some X error
that in 1 second fails to console.
( The Gnome Desktop woks just fine )
About KDE2: I have upgraded using new one without results
After I have removed the old packages using RPM and manually deleted the
path (including user preferences). But a new KDE2 installation give me
the same links problem.

ISDN
Is possible to add some utility for get ISDN cards configured without
manually edit /etc/... files?

Other:
Compared to Suse 6.4 with kernel 2.2.16 ( on same PC ), with
XFree86 4.0.1 compiled on my system from the sources, Mandrake cooker
have a very slow HD access (UDMA66 22 GB).

Hdparm with the same settings used on Suse 6.4 does not give me better
performance.

Can't get Sane 1.0.3 to be compiled from the the tar.gz sources

A little suggestion: please, add "/dev/usbscanner".

Excuse me for my english :-)))

Best regards,
